Brett Badgett

Brett Badgett is a fourth generation Montanan whose roots run deep in the tradition and legacy of the American West. His great grandfather, Shorty Badgett, came to the Otter Creek country of Southeastern Montana in the 1880's to establish a ranch. Shorty's son, Kirk, continued the ranching tradition by raising Remount horses for the United States Government and also rode for the famous CBC horse operation which was reputed to be the largest American horse enterprise ever. Brett's father, Wally, was a collegiate and professional rodeo rough-stock rider who qualified for the 1974 PRCA National Finals Rodeo. Wally is also an artist and the creator of the "Earl" comic strip.

Brett attended Montana State University on a rodeo scholarship competing in calf roping and team roping and graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. After college, Brett spent the next five years traveling the nation with several great horsemen. He currently rides and trains horses for the Copper Spring Ranch. His artwork and horsemanship have been featured in "AMERICA'S HQRSE" and he appeared in the documentary on cowboys and horsemanship titled "Houlihan" by J & S Productions.

He has placed a ½ life-size monument titled "Layin the Trip" in the sculpture garden at the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, CO.

Brett has received commissions from companies such as Dodge Trucks", the Anipro Corporation and the Montana Stockgrowers Association.

Brett's work is available in very limited editions!
